CPO Pharmaceuticals which was created in January 2015 is the exclusive distributor of Pfizer Prescription Medicines in the Cyprus market. Since January 2016, GPA Pharmaceuticals Ltd is 100% owned by CPO. Pfizer, which is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies develops and produces medicines and vaccines for a wide range of medical disciplines, including immunology, oncology, cardiology, diabetology/endocrinology, and neurology.
In 2019, Upjohn, Pfizer’s business segment focused on off-patented branded medicines and generics , was established as a separate division within Pfizer. In July 2019, Pfizer announced its decision to spin off Upjohn and merge it with Mylan. The transaction was completed in November 2020, resulting in the creation of Viatris Inc., a new global healthcare company formed from the combination of Upjohn and Mylan.
Viatris’ portfolio includes branded medicines, generics and complex generics, as well as biosimilars, covering multiple therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, infectious diseases, central nervous system (CNS) disorders, and dermatology.
Since March 2024, CPO Pharmaceuticals Ltd has been the sole representative of Viatris in Cyprus.
